On October 18 and 19, 2021, the Digital Days took place in Vienna. The motto of the two-day event was ‘Genial digital: Das nachhaltige Wien!’
The two days were used by experts, representatives of the city, the digital economy and science to pursue a fruitful exchange with the following goal: What is the relationship between digitalization and sustainability in an ecological sense?
One of the conclusions reached was that digitization – as it stands today – must be understood in a kind of bipolarity. On the one hand, digital devices and services currently consume too many raw materials and too much energy. On the other hand, it is clear to everyone that achieving climate protection goals is only possible with the use of digital possibilities.
Our Swarmie Carolin Proft was live on site in Vienna and had the chance to present live at the session ‘Digital vernetzte Logistik und Mobilität’, before a lively exchange with other participants in a joint discussion round afterwards.
